Both of course offer opportunities to either brand or promote a product and/or company, or brand and promote yourself.
The number one mistake across the internet is the rush to promote a product or company. People do not see that the top 5% of income earners online are branding and promoting themselves. Of course they also sell affiliate products and most have a network marketing company at the end of the funnel, but, they understand that by branding themselves and building their own list instead of their company’s they have more income, multiple streams of income and a lifetime of financial stability.
People buy people, it doesn’t matter if you are into affiliate marketing, network marketing or any type of marketing on line, you have to be able to get across very quickly who you are and what it is exactly that you are offering. This is why it’s so important to focus on personal branding. This is how some people can offer a product or service to their list and make hundreds of thousands of dollars. The people on the list know them, they know their personal brand and trust it and that confidence makes them buy. It doesn’t stop there because over time the brand seeps out and filters all over the internet this is the power of effective personal branding it can spread like a virus.
If you look at pure network marketing its all over the place on and off the Internet. People often say how great Avon is or Prepaid Legal or this company or that company. This is classical product/company branding; you are effectively helping to do the branding work for the company. If you are lucky enough to convert one of your prospects into a customer you will make some upfront money. Sounds great right, but let’s take a look at it. We already know that that the average network marketer will convert less than 3% of his/her prospects into customers within a network marketing company. Some high flyer’s may get better averages than that but once the sale is made the customer belongs to the company not you. You’ll continue to service them and a very select few will actually make you money but the bottom line is that the customer is now your company’s and they can market to them over and over again. If that’s not bad enough most companies also have rules about you promoting other businesses to your customers.
If you only promote one product or company you are effectively putting handcuffs on yourself and shrinking your overall market by as much as 80%. So doesn’t it make sense to develop a much stronger conversion rate, a larger income, or indeed multiple streams of income and most important of all a list of customers that you can sell to over and over again in the future.
By branding yourself and providing quality products/services that truly help people; you will build a tremendous following within any list that you own. Only by helping others will you truly achieve the success you desire online?
