Have you got the right internet marketing focus, or are you waiting for the ‘next big thing’ coming down the pipe?  It doesn’t matter if you’re an internet marketer, into MLM or an affiliate marketer, if you don’t have the right internet marketing focus you will be distracted by the avalanche of offers, proposals and ‘get rich quick’ schemes coming at you!

I went through a phase which lasted for some time where I couldn’t stop looking for the next ‘big thing’.  When I look back I now realise that it developed into a subconscious impulse not to miss out on what was coming.  But as you’ve probably guessed….. there was nothing coming. The next big gig never comes!

I found I was constantly looking/scanning/searching for the something to explode onto the internet scene even without really thinking about it. Its scary stuff I know!  Even though I was mad busy, in fact I was overwhelmed and not able to cope with what I had going on at the time, yet I was still looking for that next ‘big thing’!

The amount of emails from other internet marketers, MLM opportunities, product launches and ‘not to be missed’ promotions had grown to a prodigious amount.  Even though there was very little, in fact no chance of doing anything with them at all I still went through the process of filing them carefully into folders for use in the future.  Fat chance of that!

I’d actually seen it happen to other people; they jumped from one new opportunity to another always hoping the next one will be the one to make them wealthy and successful!  They got sucked into the excitement of a brand new product, a big incentive launch or the next new downline building MLM business, alas to be disappointed when the checks just didn’t come rolling in. The very same people were undaunted by this and carried on as one of the big things they had picked up over time is to be positive! So one more try because the next one will be the one and the scenario quietly repeats itself infinitum!

Eventually I realised that not only was I struggling to cope, my business was suffering because my focus was all over the place. While I felt busy, in fact mad busy I suddenly thought “What am I actually busy with???”  The answer; I wasn’t busy with the right things and was too distracted to focus on any one thing to accomplish anything. I didn’t have the right internet marketing focus

So, I embarked on a quest to rid myself of all the distractions, the emails, the text messages, the chat rooms, Facebook etc etc.  This proved to be a lot more difficult than you would imagine.  The reason for this was because I needed to take part in each of the activities listed above to run my business and just switching everything of was not an option although it had crossed my mind.

In the end I had to get some focus.  I had to forget about the next ‘big thing’ and focus on the important stuff, those one or two gems that would produce results.  Producing results is the fuel to growing your business and your income.  Do the same thing each day, then each month, and then each year and the compound effect will kick in and your results are assured no matter what you are doing!

It sounds boring, I know, day after day, month after month….. But it won’t seem boring when your business starts to grow; you start generating cash and then start to see what success is really like!

Having the right internet marketing focus is the critical component.  You only have the capacity to focus, really focus on a few things effectively. Always make sure you concentrate your efforts on the important ‘business building tasks’ that actually produce something.  Stick to it, no matter what happens, don’t stop! If you are consistent and persistent within a year you will look back at a total transformation of you and your business.  Now, is your internet marketing focus right?  Remember: it’s doing the small things in your existing or indeed new business that will make it happen.  It’s about creating a ‘daily ritual’ that is vital to your success.   You can turn your existing business (even if you have only just started it) into your very own ‘next big thing’.
