If you’re looking to build on what you’re already doing, the first step is to evaluate your current qualifications, skills and expertise level.  The internet is full of websites advertising freelance positions where you can see if your skill-set matches what companies are looking for.  If you’re looking for a second job, job seekers can search on-line databases to find the job that’s right for them and maybe negotiate a fee to do the work at home, hours to suit etc.  The secret is finding positions (and they are out there) that fit your availability, skill-set and qualifications and paring them up.

If you’re thinking of making a break from what you are doing and want something completely different then the internet is the place to look.  Beware though as success, no matter what you are into, does not happen overnight! Like almost everything else, if you want to earn on the internet, what you choose to do and how you educate yourself in that field is vital to even limited success.

Due diligence is essential.  It’s your responsibility to thoroughly check before you start.  If you do try something and it doesn’t work out it doesn’t mean you have failed, it just means that there was a flaw in what you did, when you did it and with what.  ‘Get back on the bike’ and start again as every successful person on the internet has done at one time or another.

Beware!  There are many bogus schemes that will tell you that you can make serious money almost immediately. These schemes usually only make money for the people actually running them; they prey on unsuspecting people who have little or no internet experience.

Avoid hours upon hours of time; it’s always a good idea to get involved with someone who can guide you through the pitfalls that are ahead.  Find a mentor who is willing to work with you and start your education.  It may cost but, hey, you will need educating and it doesn’t come free!

Okay, there are innumerable ways to earn money on the internet depending on your skills experience and your willingness to learn/educate yourself.   Here are a few you could look at:

Affiliate Marketing

There are sites on the internet like ‘ClickBank’ for example who act as marketplaces for the sale of downloadable digital products.   The products are created and listed in the ClickBank Marketplace and made available to anyone who wants to promote them.   Marketing materials are usually provided and a special link called a ‘hoplink’ is created which tracks your commissions back to you.  This is a great way to earn money online as there is no risk of loss, you don’t pay anything to market the product but you do need to factor in your time as an expense. Your job is to get the message out and market the product.  Each product that you sell earns you a commission so everyone wins.

Create your Own Product

We mentioned above selling other people’s products but why not create your own product.  Digital products usually deal with problem solving so, if you can come up with an idea that solves a problem and you can get your message out, you can sell your product.  Hell, you could also put it on ClickBank and get others to sell it for you!

My wife is an avid eBayer; she started just selling unwanted stuff from around the house then she went on to ask friends and family if she could sell things for them by agreeing with them how much she would get for selling it.  After that she progressed to sourcing products from the internet via wholesale and clearance websites; she makes good money every week doing this.

Network Marketing or MLM

There are many Network Marketing companies operating on the internet. You only need to type into Google ‘Network Marketing’ to see how popular this is.  My very first sortie on the internet was through a Network Marketing company.  When I started I had no skills or experience whatsoever. This turned out to be a good place to acquire both.  I made good money with the company and went on free holidays abroad them.  I learned a lot doing Network Marketing and it gave me a basic understanding of marketing, the internet, working with people etc.  One of the great things about Network Marketing is the amount of support that’s available.  With the right company the person who sponsors you (introduces you into the business) has a vested interest in your success and will usually provide all the necessary support you’ll need.

Check out any companies you’re interested in thoroughly, then check their products, pay plan and, most importantly if people within it are successful.  Ask to speak to reps already in the business (new starters if possible), see how they are doing and what their experience is.

I have listed above 4 of the most common ways to earn money online.  They all have one thing in common;  to be successful with any of them you need to be able to get your message out to the masses!  You have to be able to market the product, the opportunity or the idea.  This is where many people slip up. They think it’s all about the how sexy the product is, how successful the opportunity is or how brilliant the idea is, but it’s not! It’s about your ability to get it in front of people!

When it comes to Earning Money Online the ‘beast’ you have to conquer is Google. You sink or swim on your ability to get your website, page or blog to the top of Google where the free traffic is.  You can, of course, pay to get to the top of Google but it can be very, very expensive, especially if you don’t know what you are doing.

Earning money on line is not complicated; you need a simple daily formula that shows you how to do it.  This is the missing link that will tame the ‘beast’ and get you to page one on Google thus ensuring as many people as possible see what you have to offer.
